SB's thoughts on QuarterFinal loss.

SV survives 1st-Set tie-breaker! Eliminates SB 7-6 (7-2), 6-1

Harmon Park - In only his second year of tournament play, SB nullifies an early SV lead - even after having a game winner reversed on technicality. Later-SB goes up 30-love, and leads 6-5, but he doesn't complete the kill. SV forces a tie-breaker, then goes on to win.

In the second - SB's neck starts to stiffen, as SV starts attacking the net. SV takes the second set 6-1... Surviving a true test from the young raising star!

SV squeaks by DNR 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Harmon Park-Then there were four! By squeaking by DNR, SV joins BR, BY, and SB as the "FINAL FOUR"! One would think that at this point - it's anyone's tournament. Realistically, former champion BR is the heavy favorite. Of the remaining three; SV has more experience, but BY has determination, competitive spirit, and improved health. While SB has both youth, and natural athletic ability. The first test will be this coming week as SB takes on SV for a spot in the semi-finals against BY. The next three matches should prove to be interesting for spectators to watch. Match schedule will be posted as soon as a time is finalised between contestants.

BR routs BY 6-1, 6-0

Cutty's Campground - Playing BR is like swimming upstream. No matter how much you paddle, how much distance you cover, there's a feeling of inevitability going the other way. You better reach your goal soon, or eventually the current will win. That's how "BY" must have felt as BR racked up game after game in an almost shut-out of the tower's senior controller.

BR now sits atop the bracket waiting for a challenger to emerge from those previously beaten. Who will it be?

AJ exits tournament with 6-1,6-1 loss to SV

Norwalk Middle School - According to published reports, the MRI on TowerTennis player SV's gluteus maximus came back negative. SV left Saturday's match with AJ limping from a strained right glute.
So far, all signs point to SV having avoided a major injury and TowerTennis followers should not expect this to be a long-term thing. However, SV may be looking at being at less than 100 percent for his upcoming match with DNR. DNR knocked SV out of the finals in 2004.

SB eliminates MM 6-4, 6-1

Harmon Park - DOUBLE HEADER - MM squares up against SB as DH took on "BY" in the adjacent court. MM with well placed shots and powerful serves takes an early 4-1 lead. SB reassesses his tactics and starts to focus on returning the ball in-bounds. This adjustment shows promise as SB struggles, but levels the match at 4-all. Building on the success of this tactical adjustment, SB wins 5 unanswered games to take the first set 6-4.
The 2nd-set featured multiple rallies, but SB managed to take virtually every game. SB pulls ahead, and goes on to a 6-1 victory winning the match in straight sets.

BY defeats DH 6-4, 6-4.
